Duvien's Tutorials

Over the next coming weeks i'll be adding a tutorial sections for Drupal. There maybe Joomla 1.5 tutorials but since i've been spending a lot of time getting to grips with Drupal and having fun learning the inside out of a complex system, i figure it would be mostly Drupal stuff to document. Magento is another one that i'll like to add to the tutorials.

There be no tutorials on Joomla 1.0.x, i feel it's too outdated and recommend you use either A8E or J!1.5 instead.

Occasionally, i may cover other topics for other CMS but at this stage, i think there is enough to write about.

So what's to come for the tutorials?

  • Installation and configuration (yes, too many of them already but i want to ;) )
  • Drupal Administration
  • Drupal Themeing
  • Drupal integration with Gallery2 which you will see very soon on my site.
  • Possibly Drupal with jQuery, not played around with it yet but do hope to catch up on this very soon. So i can add some fancy stuff to this site only if it serves the right purpose. I've seen sites that sprinkle jQuery or Mootools everywhere possible just to impress and it just puts me off.
  • May offer video screencast?

You will see a working Drupal integration with Gallery2 on this site by next week. Currently it is working on my test server but just need to find some time to test and to transfer it to live site.

The tutorials might be slow coming but good things come to those that are patient, maybe not?... :)
